Where EnvironDesk is different
EVX knows a project has a deadline. It does not know that the deadline is a Consent to Operate expiring under a red-category validity period, that the renewal needs NABL lab reports no older than a few months, that condition 14 of the last order remains unmet, or that the whole thing feeds an XGN submission. EnvironDesk is built around those regulatory objects, and around Indian regulation specifically — EVX serves consulting firms internationally and has no reason to model GPCB. If your risk is a missed consent rather than an unbilled hour, that is the difference that matters.

- Yes, and for a larger firm that is a sensible split: EVX for project economics and billing, EnvironDesk for the regulatory obligations and evidence. They overlap only lightly, on client records and invoicing. Smaller Indian firms usually find EnvironDesk's built-in GST invoicing sufficient and do not need a second system.
- Does EVX handle Indian pollution control board compliance?
- EVX is built for environmental consulting and engineering firms internationally, and its published material describes project, billing and business management rather than jurisdiction-specific regulatory modelling. We have found no indication of GPCB, CPCB or XGN support, but you should ask them directly rather than take our word for it — it is their product, and it may have changed since we checked.
- Which should a 5-person Gujarat consultancy pick?
- If the thing that keeps you up at night is a client's consent lapsing, start with EnvironDesk. If it is that you delivered forty renewals last year and cannot say which were profitable, that is EVX's problem to solve. Most Gujarat firms we speak to describe the first problem, which is a selection effect worth being honest about — we are the ones asking.
